Abstract
Since 1995 we have been working in our department of German language and literature at the University of Cádiz on the following topic: How to include literature in the foreign language classroom not only for advanced learners but also for beginners? During the last 10 years we have been developing a literary corpus and have tested different ways to use this corpus in the language classroom. The following article shows our experience as foreign language teachers as well as the most important aspects we should take into consideration when teaching literature to beginners, without demotivating them
