Abstract

Gas chromatography with selective NPD and two fused-silica capillary columns of different polarity have been used for detection and confirmation in water of Trichlorfon, Phorate, Dimethoate, Parathion-methyl, Parathion and Chlorpyrifos. Likewise, liquid-liquid extraction and solid-phase extraction with octadecyl silica cartridges were compared for pesticide recovery, being the first which offered the highest yield. The whole analytical protocol allows to determine concentrations about 0.1-0.5 μg/L for recoverable pesticides, the maximum admissible concentration (MAC) of pesticides for drinking water in Spanish and EEC legislation.
