Abstract

We have chosen these three filmmakers, directors and screenwriters, for their international echo as representatives of the New Latin American Cinema of the 21st century that, from different positions: hopeful, skeptical and dystopian, offer us a vast panorama of violence and its corporeality. Violence exerted in domestic areas that are the result of hetero-patriarchy, racism and immobility. The three filmmakers offer us a cinema rich in nuances, in gestures, in looks, in subjective planes, a cinema that suggests, subtle and intuitive. A metaphorical and real cinema at the same time that links with the concept of magical realism.
