Abstract
Software project management is an area of great importance to be considered by experts on their road to success in software project development. Because of this, of equal or greater importance should be training future professionals receive in that area. However, bringing the professional reality to the training field becomes a complicated task which causes students to acquire knowledge in a theoretical environment where they lack practical training with real-life scenarios during their studies. In 2013, to improve software project management training and contribute to meet the needs found in this area, a serious simulation-based game was developed to train and evaluate in software project management concepts and practices. Our main purpose with this paper is to describe the trajectory of the serious game developed and to summarize the multiple experiences carried out since the 2013/2014 academic year on the tenth anniversary of the use of the serious game in teaching.
