Abstract

Venous ulcers, the ultimate complication of chronic venous disease, account for almost 80% of lower extremity ulcers, with the majority of those treated in Primary Care. We present the case of a patient with a recurrent venous ulcer with poor evolution, mainly due to lack of adherence to therapeutic indications and recommendations. After a conditioning process, through negative and positive reinforcement, together with the use of combined multilayer bandage therapy, as a therapeutic indication according to the available evidence, and dressings adapted to the state of the injury, healing of the injury is achieved in 63 days and 11 multicomponent bandage changes. The patient continues to be monitored in the nursing consultation with compression therapy and therapeutic education to maintain adherence to the recommendations and preventive measures for recurrence.
