Resumo

The PhD Thesis A framework for the multi-sectoral assessment of climate change risks in coastal areas means a significant step forward in the multi-sectoral assessment of climate change risks in coastal areas, particularly those arising from coastal flooding and erosion. To that end, three specific objectives wet set and achieved: 1) the development of an integrated (i.e., multi-hazard, multi-impact and multi-sectoral) framework for climate change risk analysis in coastal areas, providing practical guidance on how it is to be applied to obtain risks and consequences; 2) the implementation of the integrated framework for the multi-sectoral assessment of coastal flood risk consequences; and 3) the implementation of the integrated framework for the sectoral assessment of coastal erosion risks.
