Abstract

This work the phenomenon of academic plagiarism is analyzed. The focus group for this analysis was the university students in Grades in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education at the University of Cadiz the academic year 2014/2015. Students have training courses for the library, specific courses citation of sources, and obviously the teacher informs the students of accurate information about the citation system required for the completion of any academic production. However, despite these training and information possibilities, we found that the results were very different: the student incurs the dishonest practice of plagiarism. This was the reason the study for which a questionnaire was used. Main results: students not considered plagiarism when presenting the same or identical work in two different subjects and is more than reproachable copy fragments of different books and magazines (45%) and various fragments taken from the Internet (48%), teachers not the work is read, nor see if you have plagiarized or not; theoretical work are complex and lack a clear definition; attitudes, motivations and perceptions, among others. We conclude that the promoters of this practice factors are dependent student, those related to teachers and teaching model and linked to the university system itself.
