Abstract

The article intends to state the basic aspects of an analysis methodology for the textbooks of the Earth Sciences and specifically apply it into the treatment of the Pyrenees geology in five textbooks of the last year of secondary education. The results emerged from the analysis carried out, show on the one hand, a great deal of approaches and proceedings of the studied subject matter in each book, and on the other hand, they allow us to draw conclusions about the adaptation of the materials to fit in with the demands of the spanish LOGSE or the present scientific knowledge that is imparted in secondary education classrooms.
