Abstract

We try to compare the tolerance of the cytoscopy with flexible endoscope using simple sterile lubricant, in the face of the instillation of anesthetic gel with lidocaine clorhidrate at 2%, when they both are instilled five minutes before the exploration. To carry out the study we have selected an homogeneous group of patients to whom cytoscopy as part of the protocol of follow-up of superficial vesicles tumors is carried out in a periodic way, these patients were distributed randomly in two groups: to one of which was applied only lubricant and to the other one the mentioned lidocaine gel. The results were comprised in a survey with a multi-answer question multi-answer and a valuation in an analogical visual scale. The obtained variables were statistically analyzed in a qualitative and quantitative way, arriving to the conclusion that there are not differences in patients' pain perception for when lubrication with anesthetic or simple lubrication is used if the time between the lubrication and the cytoscopy is of 5 minutes.
