Résumé

The main aim of this paper is to analyze the evolution of the determining factors of the relative economic development of Andalucia on the Spanish regional context between 1980-2000, as well as the obstacles that these factors raise, favouring the unequal model of economic growth of Andalucia. We conclude that despite the advances in physical capital, human capital and technological innovation, they have been insufficient for Andalucia to achieve a bigger process of real convergence towards the Spanish regions, mainly due to the presence of the following obstacles: a high turnout of agricultural activities with low productivity, a strong weight of the low-relative productivity market services and a weak industry and energy fabric wich shows defficiencies in productivity.
