Resumen

La dirección de los recursos humanos (DRH) se ha nutrido, en las últimas décadas, de aportaciones provenientes del pensamiento estratégico, organizativo, sociológico y económico. Esta realidad ha contribuido a configurarla como un campo en el que conviven una multiplicidad de enfoques teóricos, aproximaciones y metodologías de investigación. En este trabajo analizamos el estado actual de la investigación en el campo. Utilizamos para ello la metodología propuesta por Snow y Thomas (1994), que proporciona un instrumento para analizar los procesos de construcción y comprobación de la teoría. A partir de este modelo se diseñó un cuestionario enviado a una amplia muestra de académicos en el ámbito de los recursos humanos de todo el mundo. Los datos proporcionaron información relevante sobre las perspectivas teóricas utilizadas, metodologías de obtención y análisis de datos, e intereses de investigación lo que ha permitido describir la forma en la que, en este ámbito concreto de investigación, se generan los planteamientos teóricos y se comprueban de forma empírica.
