Abstract
Analysis of the presence of the Ottomans subjects in Cadix during the Early Mo- dern Times. We find a little Armenian colony, dedicated principally to the commercial activi- ties, but, especially, too many slaves as consequence of the war with the Empire and the Ve- netian Republic at the end of the XVIIth century. Most were women, and many got the freedom, marrying some of them with Italian immigrants, although keeping in many cases on the threshold of poverty.
