Abstract
The geostrategic scenario settled by the Peninsular War brought a significant change in the consideration of the Southwest Iberian Peninsula, which could get rid of its traditional peripheral character and move to occupy a central position, linked especially with the wide support dispatched to Cadiz, to whose resistance contributed decisively by sending regular men, supplies and information.
