Abstract

Antiretroviral treatment is the main measure to infectious prevention in HIV patients. Pharmacological prophylaxis has not changed in the last few years. The convenience of suppressing the pharmacological prophylaxis of infections when both CD4 count is over 200/mm3 and viral load is undetectable is still considered as a valid �general rule�. Protocols of vaccination against hepatitis virus A and B, influenza virus, pneumococcus and, in certain cases, virus of the human papilloma are emphasized.
