Abstract

This report presents the editing and translation of two chancellery documents written by the writer and Secretary of Chacellery Abū l-Mutarrif Ibn cAmīra on behalf of the king of Murcia, cAzīz Ibn Khaṭṭāb. The first and most important is the act of deposition of the former governor of Murcia and Ibn Khattab oath as new governor. The second is the response to a letter that Ibn Khaṭṭāb had received from his relative the governor of Játiva, Abū Bakr Ibn cĪsà, in which Ibn Khaṭṭāb invited him to recognize his authority. These texts are preceded by a brief biographical sketch of Ibn al-Khaṭṭāb in which highlights its importance from the point of view of political and literary.
