Abstract
In the Central Iberian Chain four planation surfaces are recognized whose respective ages are: lower-middle Miocene, Turolian-Ruscinian, middle Pliocene and middle Villafranchian. These ages are stablished through their lateral relations with correlative deposits corresponding to sedimentary accumulations of neogene tectonic depressions and their dating. After the elaboration of each surface, tectonic movements have deformed these planes. It is deduced that the neogene planation surfaces of this area are old pediplanes elaborated in arid environments.
