Résumé

Participatory assessment has an enormous potential in formative assessment. More so due to the variety available to promote student’s participation in one or more stages of the assessment process- design, implementation, grading-. This experience stems both from the need that students take charge of their learning process and the importance of participation to achieve meaningful agreements. 113 college senior students participated in the decision-making process of the assessment design. Many interpretations can be derived from the experience, it is important to highlight the complexity of assessment and the conflicting potential that it carries
