Abstract

The Laboratory of Acoustic Engineering of the University of Cadiz has been involved during these past years in a noise environmental project which turn the two main agglomerations of Cadiz into a “Noise testing laboratory in situ” for interchanging experiences in the development of strategic noisemaps and action plans, contrasting methods, determines the efficiency of different noise abatement measures, etc. The Environmental Agency of the Regional Government and the Ministry of Environmental Affairs are concerned about things in the development of the maps that can compromise the reliability of the action plans against noise. This time the study focuses on the use of traffic models. The consequences on the improvement of the quality of the Noise Maps have been analyzed and the repercussions over the efficiency of the Action Plans have been evaluated. Finally this traffic models have been efficiency classified from the cost/benefit point of view.
