Abstract
The study presented attempts to analyze the development of the doctrines of hygiene in our country from its main representatives. This framework aims to address the analysis of his speeches and how they illustrate the need for hygiene principles to the school environment. The work on the analysis of hygiene as a scientific discipline at that time covered a wide variety of fields in which he displayed his speech, including the school. For this analysis, the article reviews the principal hygienists of the time as Pedro Felipe Monlau, Juan Giné y Partagás and Benito Álcina. As auxiliary elements for this reflection we used hygiene manuals that come from the Old Fund Library of the Faculty of Medicine of Cadiz University
