Abstract
The author studies the Álvarez Campana family, resident in Cádiz and linked to Americantrade from the 18th century onwards. The article focuses mainly on Cadiz resident JoséÁlvarez Campana. It explores aspects of familylife and its link with commercial activity, andthe creation of social and trade networksbetween Cadiz and certain American areas,especially Veracruz.
