This theoretical work wonders about the affordances and usefulness of social media, considered as commercial platforms and subjectivity technologies, for the contemporary feminist movement. Specifically, it is under question the suitability of social networking sites in order to create a broad collective sense about feminism and its communication. SNS platforms seems even less suitable if the tensions about identity policies which cross this movement are considered and the capabilities for action that prior virtual spaces to the web 2.0 made possible. The main problem is that the current stabilisation of these technological artifacts promotes two of the core values of neoliberal discourse which are individualism and perpetual competition for attention with alterity
