Abstract

The analysis of the content of the Ibero-American Multilateral Agreement on Social Security has many issues in common with the EU Regulation 883/2004 on the coordination of Social Security systems. Thus, the content of the paragraph 15 of the Multilateral Agreement (CMISS) establishes special rules, as the European regulation does, in respect on the aggregation of insurance periods of Social Security systems, public or private, to acquire benefits. The paragraph 15 lays down specific provisions to determine the rules about the contributions to optional continued or voluntary insurance. This situation should lead us to think about the need to work to harmonize the legislations in parties States in this framework
