Abstract
Dysynergic defecation is a common pathology that affects up to half of the patients with chronic constipation. This problem of acquired behavior is due to the inability to coordinate the abdominal and pelvic floor muscles to pass stool. There are no specific tests for the diagnosis of the disease. Biofeedback is the technique of choice for treatment, with very good results. This review aims to be a simple summary of the characteristics of this defecatory disorder, which may be useful for our clinical practice.
