Abstract
Polycythemia vera (PV) is a myeloproliferative entity that causes severe digestive disorders. The prevalence of gastrointestinal lesions has increased (between 7-23%) compared to the general population[1]. The most representative form is usually the gastric ulcer, being the upper gastrointestinal bleeding (UGH) secondary to erosions and tears an unusual form of presentation. However, regardless of the type of lesions, the etiopathogenic involvement of these is still controversial.
