Abstract
In any research, a good methodological planning is fundamental. In neology, specifically, the methodology that we propose is based on a) the establishment of neologicity criteria for the detection of neological candidates; b) some study stages used as the guidelines to lead us in the application of these criteria and subsequent analysis, and c) working tools, which are the neological sheets, central issue of this article. These sheets are extremely useful, facilitating, on the one hand, the recording of data related to the compliance or not of the neologism criteria and, on the other hand, documenting the neologism found by recording in such sheets the data that are indispensable for the linguistic and pragmatic analysis of these lexical units which are presented as ‘new’ in the language, thus allowing the systematization of the data for the subsequent exhaustive, quantitative and qualitative study of these registered neological candidates.
