Resum
This paper aims at refl ecting about promoting diversity in the Latin language classroom and proposing diversity-friendly methodologies in relation with an active teaching of Latin. Therefore, diversity as a concept is examined and split into two variables. The fi rst one covers the academic output of students and the second operates regarding their social particularities. Our proposals, which slightly modify both traditional and active methodologies rather innovatively, are based and tested through my experience as member of the teaching staff of introductory courses of Latin in the University of Cádiz to students of several degrees of Philology. The results of our research underline the eff ects of promoting diversity in an academic level as well as in a personal level, involving students’ role in their learning process.
