Abstract

Throughout history, society has generated different formulas with the idea of solving the conflicts that have arisen within it. Currently, we find ourselves at a moment in which the instruments of restoration are being revitalised, through the impulse of the victimological postulates, which show the need to give more and more protagonism to the victim and the community. However, this impulse has found an important brake in the area of genderbased violence. The legislator has decided to prohibit the possibility of criminal mediation in case of this type of crime. This limitation is intended to protect women as victims, but it ignores the possible benefits derived from this tool. Therefore, with due caution, given the object of the study, these lines reflect on the possible effects on women victims and victimised women
