Resumo

The present study analyses the recovery events of two beaches (La Victoria and Camposoto beaches) in the Bay of Cadiz for the period between 2008 and 2014. For this purpose, topographic surveys were performed using an RTK-DGPS with a fortnightly (winter) and monthly (summer) periodicity. Considering different beach contour lines (z=1.5, z=2, z=2.5 and z=3), width of the beach and its volume were defined as recovery state proxies. On the other hand, wave climate was assessed selecting the periods between recoveries and the last seven days of the recovery surveys. Results show that the area located in La Victoria Hotel and Camposoto have morphological recoveries, while Cortadura area has morphological and volumetrical recoveries. Furthermore, the morphodynamic state of the beach influences the recovery period, as expected. Finally, peak period presents the best correlation values, thus, it reflects the importance of swell waves in low energy areas.
