Resumo

Gender divides society, both free and imprisoned population, hence the need a vision of gender in treatment programmes and activities that ignores the different social and cultural realities of women prisoners, not only risks losing effectiveness but can also del-ve into the discriminatory situation experienced by these women. Therefore the need to analyse whether and how programmes such as sermujer.es provide for special attention to these circumstances. Discrimination factors differ when they derive from different social and cultural realities. This distinction allows serious and effective proposals for eliminating them or minimizing their effects.
