Abstract

The relevance of the university as a generator of high-growth entrepreneurial initiatives has been highlighted by a growing number of research carried out in recent years. However, official data reveal an alarming shortage of high-growth firms in Spain, compared to other developed economies. Starting from these arguments and drawing on the data provided by GUESSS 2018, our article examines the entrepreneurial intentions and a series of individual and contextual determinants in a sample of Spanish and G7 university students with nascent entrepreneurial initiatives. The results reveal the existence of significant differences between both groups of countries and provide interesting recommendations and implications.
