Abstract
This article raises two aims. First, to analyze the veracity of the data from the tithing re-cords, bearing in mind matters such as the exentos, the excusados and the fraud. And second, to show how inadequate was the above mentioned source, to obtain the agricultural gross production, in our case, of wheat and barley. The source used was the auctions of the diffe-rent goods paid as tithe, especially the income from the pan terciado, that were leased in the vicariate of Jerez de la Frontera, belonging to the Archdiocesan of Seville
