Resumo

The main objective of this paper is the proposal for greater integration of metaphor in the teaching or/and learning process as we have found that, as they are similar to the ones used in different languages, they can function as an union bond between them. Traditionally, the metaphor used to be studied from a stylistic perspective. Although, cognitive linguistic has shown that the metaphor is present in the system of the language since it builds this. Metaphors are not only a part of our language but they are part of our daily life. Thus the can determine our mental process to understand different utterances. The purpose of this study is double, on the one hand we want to stress the information gap about the aplications of cognitive metaphors in language learning; on the other hand, to underline its validity, apart from their stylictic value, as an union bond. This paper, only a critical analysis, emphasize the relevance of establish what metaphors are similar in order to determine how they can build links between cultures.
