Abstract
The involuntary commitmentof people who endure a psychological disorder presents problems which affect their fundamental rights. This study tries to analyce the way the Constitutional Court deal with the problem, viewed from the perspective of the individual persons freedom rights of people whom have been affected by the measure. It aiso tries to analyze the criteria which has been established by the Constitutional Court in order to determine the guarantees that should be taken into account before adopting the measure of involuntary commitment with special attention pais to the periods of time for adopting the measure and its validity and duration.
