Resumo
The changes that our society is facing at the end of this century directly affect the cultural bases on which we have built our knowledge. The fact that we live in an intercultural society demands that we make efforts to modify our educational system to enable it to integrate diversity. Written communication has been the traditional vehicle for transmitting knowledge in our civization, and as cultural product, it is based on a series of conventions that other cultures lack. The growing immigrant population in the educational context and the communication’s development can be combined to create a new concept of written text making it more dynamic and open. In this paper we will analyze how these changes affect the study of written communication skills.
