Resum
The QUADMAP was an European project that set out to fill the existing methodological gap in theEuropean Directive 2002/49 / EC regarding quiet areas and their standardization. In this context,a series of tools are developed that complement the studies already carried out. This study is justified by the need to be able to define quickly and efficiently those areas of thecity that are most likely to be selected to be declared quiet areas. Better if it is a simple procedure, which can be used by the local administration and the different engineering companies dedicatedto studies and solutions in environmental acoustics. It is about reserving the most profoundanalyzes, in which surveys are a necessary means, to a few candidate areas. This study will alsoshow that the tools developed at European level do not work correctly if we apply them in themedium-sized cities of southern Spain. To prove it, a series of surveys have been carried out tocompare the methods and confirm these assertions.
