Abstract

The aim of this work is to compare the poverty situation in Spain and Portugal, by sex and age, by means of exploratory researchtechniques, based on secondary data, which will make it possible to design lines of action aimed at improving the situation in the twocountries in question. The results obtained show that the Spanish and Portuguese female population, aged between 16-24 and 50-64years, is the most affected by the crisis and is the one with the greatest impact on poverty levels, according to the components of the Arope Rate.
