Abstract

The so-called hate speeches, or intimidatory discourses, become real by means of distinctive discourse practices in the framework of public communication. Thus, we will try to briefly describe the theoretical aspects we consider to be the most relevant in order to carry out an analysis of linguistic usage and pragmatic strategies applied when it comes to express hate and threat. These will be particularly observed in the digital press, within its written modality. Digital press represents, along with social networks, regardless of their style or discourse genre patterns, a very important source for the spreading of this kind of messages.
