Abstract

The main goal of this article is to understand the legal status of the island of Guam in the international system from a historical perspective. It analyses how is the international situation of the islands from 1668 (it was colonized by Spain) to the present day. Nowadays, Guam is a non-self-governing territory administered by the United States.
