Abstract

When developing his philosophy on the exclusion of poets (and women), there was a thirdthat Plato excluded from rational thought based both on the principles of identity and noncontradiction. It was this dualistic way of thinking that was to structure the European wayof being, and it is in this context that the third sex strives to find a place in the system ofidentity. The binary regime has in effect naturalized the difference between men andwomen, and, in so doing, has ensured male domination. But what happens whentrans fluidifies gender? Here we examine the revindications of a postmoderntransfeminism, in literature that seeks to put an end to the sexual dichotomy byintroducing the third gender onto the scene
