Resumo

The identification and treatment of individuals with latent tuberculosis infection (LTI) is an important priority for controlling tuberculosis (TB). LTI is established by demonstrating a prior TB infection and ruling out active disease. The identification and treatment of LTI greatly reduces the probability of reactivation. After LTI treatment, the durability of protection varies and depends on the regional prevalence of TB and risk of re-exposure.
