Resumen

Happiness is an emotional factor that has given rise to research aimed at finding a way to develop creative environments. In this regard, social networks play an important role in universities because most students are registered in a social network. Educational environmentshave become susceptible to the influence of social networks and to emotional aspects that affect students. The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between the perception of happiness, the use of social networks and the academic per-formance of university students. Therefore, a survey was applied to a population of one hundred forty four students from the Faculty of Economic and Business Sciences in the University of Cádiz, which enabled us to detect a high correlation between the variables of happiness, use of social networks and academic performance. Meaning the aims of this research were fulfilled and the hypotheses were validated. Finally, we suggest developing teaching strategies that include the use of social networks in study plans and programs in order to enhance academic performance, as well as implement goals and plans for joint happiness as a useful tool for collaborative learning of future graduates. More studies should be done to confirm the relevance of happiness as a necessary element to develop organizational improvements in different contexts.
