Resumen

The study of channels which are opened at both extremes and connected to water bodies with different dynamic characteristics is presented here. These channels, which are characterized by double inflow-outflow extremes, are highly atypical and present their own dynamic characteristics. In this paper, an analytical solution is obtained for a rectangular channel model using open boundary conditions at both extremes. From known elevation conditions at both ends, the solutions allow us to calculate elevations and speeds along the channel. This model has been applied to Sancti Petri Channel for the main harmonic component (M2) of the tide. The results of the model have been verified with observations recorded at strategically chosen sites of the inner domain.
