Resum
The present article aims to establish an analysis from the point of view of social and art history in order to rediscover the activity of feminine collective in public space, concretely during the first third of 20th Century in Lebrija (Sevilla). Focusing in the exceptions which this context provides, we analyse the leading figure of a woman, María Manuela Murube Sánchez de Alva (Los Palacios, Sevilla, 1862- Lebrija, Sevilla, 1937). Unmarried and from a wealthy family, Manuela Murube collected a very important heritage, in properties and artworks as well, a circumstance which afforded her to develop a serie of diverse proyects along her life, which nowadays are part of the collective imaginary of the village. An intense activity in the field of foundations, charity, promotion and art collecting are some of examples we approach to below. Key words: Feminine patronage. Art collecting.
