Abstract
The author of this work analyzes the life and work of St. Millán de la Cogolla by means of a study of the specific hagiographie work personalized in its author, Braulio of Saragossa, a distinguished and respected representative of powerful.This "Vita" shows the opposition between the contemplative life, paradise, and the active life, earthliness, thus rousing exemplary Christian behavior in the readers, but also extolling monastic life as a rural rather than urban phenomenon, as well as a breeding ground for many of the prelates of Visigothic Hispania.
