Abstract

This study presents the diversity of sea slugs (Heterobranchia, Gastropoda, Mollusca) of Cadiz based on the sampling carried out from April 2017 to May 2022, including those belonging to the BIOCALETA project. The samplings were carried out mainly in the interidal rocks of La Caleta beach (Cádiz), but also on the interidal rocky shores of Santa María del Mar and Torregorda beaches, from March 2019 to May 2022. Up to 56 sea slug species have been found during the study. Among them, the first record of Aegires palensis Ortea, Luque and Templado, 1990 for the Iberian Atlanic coasts, and the first record of Biuve fulvipunctata (Baba, 1938) for the Iberian Peninsula. Ater the present study, the number of species of marine slugs cited in the municipality of Cadiz has increased from 46 to 67.
