Abstract

The domestic space is like a diorama. A side drag the burden of the work of unpaid care and the other side hosts a space of resistance and self-fullfilment. It is a place that forms an integral part of the kaleidoscope of the individual identity that the woman constructs for herself. This research is based on a multidisciplinary approach. It is intended to make visible the experience that Puerto Rican women have in the conception of domestic spaces and how they construct their identity. With these objectives in mind, we analyze the autobiographical narrations of seven professionals from the field of interior design to document the trajectory of interior design in Puerto Rico and its socio-political implications from the experience of exercising a feminized profession.
