lnnovation management has different approaches for implementation. depending on the type of company and industry in which it is applied. In spite of existing organizational models for innovation management in companies and institutions, few studies are found in the scientific lirature about knowledge and innovation creation, particularly in those that are public funded, specifically hospitals, through an organizalion and management for that process . This research is oriented towards bringing fundamentals for defining, developing and implementing an innovation management model, focused on valorizing research and knowledge, applied to a public funded spanish hospital. The study is based on case study methodology It develops a roadmap for structuring innovation departments in hospitals applied to a real case:Corporació Sanitaria Parc Tauli de Sabadell. lt is shown that innovation in hospitals could be generated and maximized through structured innovation departments
