Resum

This study examines the impact on the learning of university students of several teaching improvement initiatives developed in four third-year cost and management accounting courses. Results suggest that the use of Internet free access videos is an effective resource for students to learn about real business production processes and to acquire the necessary skills for the design and understanding of cost calculation systems. Videos can be combined with serious games, which favours the development of these skills. Likewise, the experiences carried out offer evidence of the usefulness of videos and gamification as dynamic elements for theory classes, being tools through which to support the flipped classroom in this type of subject, favouring autonomous and reflective student learning.
