Resum

Chronic proliferative rhinitis is a respiratory disease of sheep; it is slow andprogressive with an irreparable and fatal prognosis for the animals. It causesa proliferative rhinitis with swollen ventral nasal turbinates that produces veryspecific clinical signs. The animals show bilateral thick mucus nasaldischarge, wheezing and snoring. Salmonella enterica subspeciesdiarizonae serovar 61:k:1,5,(7) seems to be the cause of the disease. It hasbeen isolated in cases of chronic proliferative rhinitis in sheep, though thereare not many cases described yet in the literature. This study is based on the research of other diagnosis alternatives, as well aspossible treatments for this disease.
