La competencia digital y el uso de herramientas tecnológicas en el profesorado universitario

Résumé

A utilização da tecnologia no Ensino Superior é essencial devido ao seu impacto no desenvolvimento das competências e aptidões necessárias para o século XXI. O objectivo do estudo foi avaliar o domínio digital dos docentes em diferentes áreas de competência, a frequência da utilização de ferramentas tecnológicas no processo de ensino e a possível relação entre ambos os constructos. Para o efeito, foi concebido um estudo quantitativo através de uma análise transversal descritiva e inferencial, no qual participaram 220 professores de uma universidade espanhola. Os resultados mais relevantes mostram que os professores têm um domínio intermédio das competências, com variações consoante as áreas de competência. Indicam também que os professores utilizam mais frequentemente as ferramentas que não requerem um elevado domínio pedagógico e didáctico das tecnologias. Por último, observam que os professores com um domínio médio ou avançado em todas as áreas de competência utilizam com mais frequência as tecnologias com uma forte componente pedagógico-didáctica. O estudo aponta para a necessidade de formação centrada nesta componente, a fim de melhorar a competência digital dos professores e a utilização de ferramentas tecnológicas. São indicadas linhas de investigação futuras para validar estes resultados preliminares.
